AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center
Atlantic City, NJ
Aesthetics helped AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center define its art requirements, establish integrating themes, set display standards, and acquire more than 900 pieces of original art from local artists, including five major commissions.
Aesthetics was hired to develop the first regional arts program for AtlantiCare’s new Center for Childbirth and Emergency Department addition. The community-based regional arts program used a request for proposal (RFP) process involving community artists. This collection of original works celebrated multicultural women in all phases of their lives.
We developed price points, framing palettes, quality and criteria, as well as a theme: the “Dance of Women in Nature.”
New Jersey art councils, guilds and individual artists were contacted through the internet and sent the RFP. Aesthetics, Inc. generated all of the contracts and supervised the framing, delivery and installation of the art.
Aesthetics worked closely with the Foundation to identify funding sources that resulted in over 75 percent of the cost of the program being underwritten by the community. This created so much pride for the organization they made the opening of the building into an arts opening event.
Outcome studies showed that the arts program contributed to increases in staff and patient satisfaction scores. This project was developed in a six month time period, meeting project mission and goals.
